On behalf of the East Coast Taekwondo Academy and Hapkido Moo Hak Kwan, it gives me great pleasure in welcoming you to our school. The E.C.T.A was established in 1988 on the Central Coast of New South Wales and now boasts a membership base of over 5000 students throughout New South Wales. The E.C.T.A is a registered member of the New South Wales Taekwondo Association and Taekwondo Australia Inc. Since the formation of the E.C.T.A, the Academy has developed and excelled in many aspects of the art including Olympic style of Taekwondo competition. On a number of occasions I've had the pleasure in coaching a team at the Korean Taekwondo Championships in Korea with great success. Members of the official E.C.T.A competition team have also had success at State & National Competitions including official selection into the Australian National Team for representation at international competition such as junior world championships.

By joining the E.C.T.A you will improve yourself physically and mentally. It is beneficial to consider the following viewpoints to successfully reach your goals in Taekwondo.

  • Your number one goal should be to develop yourself to the maximum of your potential in all ways.
  • Always be in a positive frame of mind, as this will improve your outlook on life and your impression on others.
  • Give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you will have no time to criticize others.
  • Be open minded, but be true and honest about your own viewpoint & your dealings with others.
  • Set goals as this helps you achieve your full potential.

By becoming a member of the E.C.T.A means you have the right to train at any E.C.T.A registered school, apply for grading on the recommendation of your instructor and participate in any E.C.T.A approved function, such as tournaments, training camps, specialized training including Taekwondo and Hapkido courses and seminars.

I am positive that you will enjoy your Taekwondo and Hapkido training as well as all the other curricular activities, which encourages camaraderie between all members. Good luck in the future. I am looking forward to meeting you soon.

Yours sincerely,

Master Chris Pennington
